Margaret Helen Goode, 81, Glasgow, KY (d. May 21, 2012)

She was the matriarch of a large, respected family. She leaves 26 direct living descendants. She was a retired employee of Mallory's and was a member of the Mt.Moriah Cumberland Presbyterian Church

Margaret Helen Goode, age 81 of Glasgow, KY, formerly of the Slick Rock Community, died Monday, May 21 at the NHC Healthcare in Glasgow.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 24, 2012, at 1pmCT, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, with Bro. Tim Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Union # 2 Cemetery.Visitation will begin Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at 2pmCT, at the funeral home.


She was a daughter of the late Bruce and Nannie Pedigo Morgan. She was a retired employee of Mallory's and was a member of the Mt.Moriah Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son: Billy Goode and wife,Pam of Haywood, KY

  • Two daughters: Loretta Hall of Gallatin, TN; and Joyce Belcher of Glasgow, KY

  • Nine grandchildren: Gloria Smith, Sandra Belcher,Bradley Goode, Brandon Goode, Kristina Casteel, Todd Walbert, Rodney Walbert, Leslie Hurt and Jeremy Walbert

  • Fifteen great grandchildren
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her bushand, Lacy B. Goode, a daughter,Debora Wells, one sister,Lillian Morgan and one brother, Cecil Morgan, two great, great grandsons, Richard Cornelius Wheeler and Matthew Patrick Casteel.

McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, Metcalfe County, KY, in charge of arrangements.
