Nettie Coomer, Adair Co., KY (1926-2012) She was a native of and resident of Adair County, KY. She was the matriarch of a highly regarded family with many relatives in South Central Kentucky, Indiana and Michigan. She leaves 21 direct living descendants. and one foster son. She was a member of Columbia Baptist Church. She had retired after a career spanning 43 years at Rockwell Standard in Chicago, Illinois. Funeral services are Monday, May 14, 2012 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Randy Copeland the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. The family requests visiting after 3pmCT, on Sunday, May 13, 2012m, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Nettie Coomer, Adair Co., KY (1926-2012) She was born Tuesday, December 21, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Ada Wilson Compton. She died Wednesday, May 9, 2012, in Laingsburg, Shiawassee County, Michigan, at the age of 85 years, 4 months, and 19 days. She was preceded in death by her husband, Noble Coomer on August 27, 2001. She is survived by the following:
Mrs. Coomer was a member of the Columbia Baptist Church and worked at Rockwell Standard in Chicago, Illinois for 43 years. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Columbia Baptist Church, American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society and may be left at the funeral home.
