Jimmy David "Snake" Norris, 64, of Tompkinsville, died Tuesday, May 08, 2012 at St.Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 11, 2012, at 3pmCT, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, with burial to follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will begin Thursday, May 10, 2012, at 3pmCT, at the funeral home.

He was a son of the late Stanley and Odell Ballard Norris. He was employed as a farmer and logger.

He is survived by the following:
  • One son: David (Kim) Norris of Tompkinsville, KY

  • One daughter: Tina Norris of Tompkinsville, KY

  • Four sisters: Mildred Huckelby, Linda (Carlie) Arterburn, Betty (Don) Muse and Phyllis Muse all of Tompkinsville, KY

  • Four brothers: Larry (Janie ) Norris of Orlinda, TN, Travis Norris and Russell (Vermal) Norris both of Tompkinsville, KY, and Phillip Norris of Summer Shade, KY

  • Five grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Alton, Darrell Wayne and Marvin Norris and sister Joyce Blankenship.
