Two LWC Academic Honor Societies induct new members

COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College community inducted new members into two honor societies Thursday. Seven new members were inducted into the LWC chapter of Alpha Chi, and 11 new members were inducted into Sigma Tau Delta.

Alpha Chi National College Honor Society is a 90-year-old coeducational academic honor society with the focus on promoting academic excellence and exemplary character among its members. The honor society is open to the top 10 percent of a school's juniors, seniors and graduate students.

The LWC students who were inducted into Alpha Chi were: Kailyn Conner of Albany, KY; Michelle Copley of Russell Springs, KY; Lacy Harris of Greensburg, KY; Heini Metsola of Helsinki; Brittany Pike of Campbellsville, KY; Lydia Tiller of Columbia; and Natalie Vickous of Lancaster, KY.

Founded in 1924, Sigma Tau Delta is an honor society for college English majors. The LWC students who were inducted into Sigma Tau Delta were: Brandi Crowe of Tompkinsville, KY; Tyler Flatt of Russell Springs, KY; Brandon Girdley of Louisville, KY; Alexia Hines of Paducah, KY; Amber Kemp of Columbia; Phyllis Lewis of Greensburg, KY; Casey McGowan of Jamestown, KY; Justin McMillian of Tompkinsville, KY; Christina O'Rourke of Columbia; Anna Sundean of Lawrenceburg, KY; and Amelia Withers of Jamestown, KY. - Duane Bonifer
