Adair Students Excel in national learning and math contest

Participating in the contest stimulates student interest in math. Winners include: Bryce Rodgers, Jazzy Douglas, Emmie Flatt, Jake Smith, Keaton Coomer, Christina White, Trevor Smith. Also: Bryce Rodgers, Kaylee Campbell, Annamarie Day, Isreal Chavero, Alexis burton, Colin Stephens, Kennedy Stephens, and Maggie Cox, Emmie Flatt, Jaiden Spires, Cecil Pearson, Faith Berry, Maggie Brummett, Clay Giles, Madison Billingsley, Lilly Quinn, Kinley Darnell, Keaton Coomer, Lauren Grant, Maggie Young, Brianna Dale, Kai Burton, Trevor Smith, Kaitlyn Janes, Jaiden Taylor, Rachel Parrish, Alex Lara, and Baylor Giles Jazzy Douglas, Halle Burton, Jake Smith, Hayden Hancock, Christina white, Maddie Harmon, Kiley Feese, and Aaron Peck

News from Adair County School District

Many students view math as a drudgery. Recently, though, several elementary and intermediate level students in Adair County demonstrated their skills and talents in mathematics and creative problem solving.

On April 16 and 18, 2012, several Mission: Possible students from Colonel William Casey, John Adair Intermediate and Adair County competed in the Noetic Learning Math Contest, a nation-wide elementary math and problem-solving contest held twice a year.



According to Pam Geisselhardt, Gifted/Talented Instructor, nearly 13,000 young students representing 649 teams across the country participated in this year's Noetic Learning Math Contest.

According to Geisselhardt the following students a were the winners of their teams:
  • CWC 2nd Grade-Bryce Rodgers
  • ACES 2nd Grade-Jazzy Douglas
  • JAIS 3rd Grade-Emmie Flatt
  • ACES 3rd Grade-Jake Smith
  • JAIS 4th Grade-Keaton Coomer
  • ACES 4th Grade-Christina White
  • JAIS 5th Grade-Trevor Smith
The following students have received National Honorable Mention:
  • CWC: Bryce Rodgers, Kaylee Campbell, Annamarie Day, Isreal Chavero, Alexis burton, Colin Stephens, Kennedy Stephens, and Maggie Cox
  • JAIS: Emmie Flatt, Jaiden Spires, Cecil Pearson, Faith Berry, Maggie Brummett, Clay Giles, Madison Billingsley, Lilly Quinn, Kinley Darnell, Keaton Coomer, Lauren Grant, Maggie Young, Brianna Dale, Kai Burton, Trevor Smith, Kaitlyn Janes, Jaiden Taylor, Rachel Parrish, Alex Lara, and Baylor Giles

The purpose of participating in the contest is to stimulate our students' interest in math and to inspire them to excel in math. The contest results serve as evidence that Adair County students are being equipped to meet rigourous requirments in math and problem-solving. -Alan W. Reed
