Ollin Reed Scott, Green Co., KY (1941-2012)

Mr. Ollin Reed Scott of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Homer Scott and Lurie Dobson Scott, was born on June 8, 1941 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at his home in Greensburg. He was 70 years, 10 months, and nine days of age.

There will be graveside services for Mr. Ollin Reed Scott held at 11amCT., Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery in Green County, KY. Bro. Leslie Jewell, Bro. Dannie Nelson, and Bro. Jonathan Willis will be officiating. There will be private family visitation held at 9amCT, Thursday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 South Main Street, Greensburg, Kentucky.

Mr. Ollin Reed Scott, 70, of Greensburg, KY, son of the late Homer Scott and Lurie Dobson Scott, was born on June 8, 1941 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at his home in Greensburg, Green County, KY. He was 70 years, 10 months, and 9 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church. He was a lifelong farmer, a carpenter, and an oil well driller.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two daughters and sons-in-law: Sandy and Gary Caven of Summersville, KY; and Jackie and Joe Beams of Greensburg;, KY

  • Three sons and two daughters-in-law: Freddie Beams, Coy and Jennifer Scott, and Johnny and Debbie Scott all of Summersville, KY

  • A step-daughter: Jamie Johnston of California
  • Seven grandchildren: Jonathan Willis of Campbellsville,, KY: Andrew Scott, Allie Scott, Cynthia Scott, Cody Scott, Anna Scott, and Noah Scott all of Summersville, KY

  • Two great grandchildren: Brayden Willis and Kaylee Shofner both of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two step-grandchildren: Jalen Johnston and Kaylee Johnston both of California

  • Four brothers and a sister: Glen Scott, Albert Scott both of Louisville, KY; James Scott, Jerry Scott both of Summersville, KY; and JoAnn Hildebrand of Louisville, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Scott was also preceded in death by two grandchildren: Carrie Beams and Aaron Beams on February 26, 2002; a sister: Christine Cox; and two brothers: Charles Scott and Dennis Scott.
