KHD planning work on US 68 in Green County, KY

Delays of up to 15 minutes may occur, MP 6-7

By Chris Jessie, Public Information Officer
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, District 4, Elizabethtown, KY

Elizabethtown, KY (April 18, 2012) - Beginning Monday, April 23, 2012, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet contract crews will be excavating a portion of US 68 in Green County from Mile Point Six through Mile Point Seven (MP 6.0-7.0). The work will improve safety on this section of road by increasing sight distance on a vertical curve.

The contractor expects to begin flagging single lane traffic at 7amET/6amCT on Monday. Following excavation, traffic will be maintained through the construction site with rock until asphalt paving begins.

Message boards are posted on east and westbound approaches to alert traffic of the upcoming work. Motorists should use additional caution and minimize distractions when traveling through the area.

Delays will be possible but should be limited to 15 minutes. Please allow extra time along the route. Work resulting in significant traffic impacts should be completed by the end of the day on Friday, April 27, 2012. -Chris Jessie
