Marshall Burton, age 71 of the (Christine Community) Columbia, KY passed away suddenly Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at his home.

Funeral service will be Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ralph Foster the officiating clergy. Interment in the Bearwallow Cemetery, 6080 Liberty Road, Colmbia, KY. The family requests visiting after 4pmCT on Friday, April 20, 2012, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

He was born Friday, August 26, 1940 near Christine, KY, He was the son of the late Jesse and Emma Hadley Burton. He died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, near Christine, Adair County, KY, at the age of 71 years, 7 months, and 22 days.

He is survived by his wife Francine Gaspar Burton of Columbia, KY and the following:
  • One son: Marshall Lee Burton and wife Gola of Columbia, KY

  • Three daughters survive: Marsha Ann Woods and husband Ricky of Columbia, KY: Tellia Faye Willis and husband Phil of Alsip, Illinois; and Christee Renee Burton and husband William England of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: J.D. Burton of Edinburg, Indiana

  • Four sisters: Bernice Rooks of Columbia, KY; Catherine Janes of Columbia, KY; Linda Gail Bell of Columbia, KY; and Helen Irvin of Columbia, KY

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • Ten great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by one son, J.C. Burton and these siblings: Golen Burton, Odie Burton, Houston Burton, William Junior Burton, Glenna Compton, Freda Ruth Burton, Margie Burton, Jewel Dean Burton and Edith Streeval
Marshall was retired from Chicago Metallic Corporation.
