He was a member of a large, distinguished Adair County family. He was a faithful member of the Columbia Christian Church, where he had served as a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent, was a member of Columbia Lodge 96, a member of the Taylor County RECC Board of Directors, a former Columbia City Councilman and was a founding member of the Adair County Rescue Squad Click on headline for full obituary with photo(s) Tommy Giles, 72, of Columbia, KY, died Monday, April 16, 2012 at 12:40pmCT, at his residence. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 1pmCT,. at Columbia Christian Church, 206 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Raymond Martin & Bro. Terry White officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation after 4pmCT, Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. Masonic rites will be held Wednesday at 7pmCT, by Columbia Lodge 96. Casket Bearers: Gregg Bardin, Donald Dean Shuffett, Pete Kessler, Scotty Minor, Raymond Rucker, Barry Myers, and John Patterson Honorary: Lauren VanArsdale, Tyler, Jared, Cody and Jayden Giles. He died Monday, April 16, 2012, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 72 years, 3 months, and 18 days. He was a member of Columbia Christian Church where he had served as a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent, was a member of Columbia Lodge 96, a member of the Taylor County RECC Board of Directors, a former Columbia City Councilman and was a founding member of the Adair Co. Rescue Squad. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jim Giles on September 3, 2009. Survivors include the following:
