KSP will conduct 2nd Adair Farmer Outreach, April 30, 2012 Calls to KSP, Extension Office, suggest a need for second forum to clarify new Federal Safety Regulations which apply to commercial vehicles By DeWayne Koch, Public Affairs Officer, Region 2 Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement FRANKFORT, KY - There will be a second 'Farmer Outreach' forum that will forge enhanced relationships between law enforcement and the agricultural community, at 7pmCT, Monday, April 30, 2012 the Adair County High School cafeteria, 525 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY. The Kentucky State Police would like to provide a second chance for farmers and business owners to attend this presentation. Since the first meeting, the KSP and the Adair County Extension Office have received numerous phone calls pertaining to the federal safety regulations that apply to commercial vehicles. Attending this presentation will help you better understand the Federal regulations and Kentucky State laws pertaining to operating trucks and trailers on the highway. KSP suggest you know your gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) on both your truck and trailer prior to the presentation. Knowing your GVWR will significantly help with the educational part of the presentation. Your vehicles GVWR can be found on the vehicle identification number (VIN) plate. Topics of discussion will include safety regulations, licensing requirements and driver qualifications. The Kentucky State Police is partnering with the University of Kentucky and the Adair County Extension Office to provide the educational meeting.
