Lindsey Wilson to present rock musical GODSPELL


The Lindsey Wilson Players will perform the rock musical Godspell, directed by Robert Brock and musical direction by Gerald L. Chafin. The cast members of Godspell are: Danielle Bennett of Columbia; Sarah Cason of Columbia; Chaz Dunn of Columbia; Jeremy Cloyd of Tompkinsville, KY; Sarah Jo Jacobs of Berea, Ky.; Lacy Martin of Gamaliel, KY; Hannah Peck of Columbia; Chelsea Pike of Campbellsville, KY; Lake Salsbury of Campbellsville, KY; Brooke Spatol of Louisville, KY; Tanner Strein of Lexington, KY; Natalie Vickous of Lancaster, Ky.; Sarah Wood of Bowling Green, KY

COLUMBIA, KY. - Members of the The Lindsey Wilson Players will present the play Godspell, a rock musical about the gospel of St. Matthew, April 25-28, 2012, at V.P. Henry Auditorium on Lindsey Wilson College's A.P. White Campus.

The show begins at 7:30pmCT April 25-28 with a 2pmCT matinee performance on April 28, 2012. V.P. Henry Auditorium is located at 210 Lindsey Wilson Street.



The LWC production will be directed by Assistant Professor of Theatre Robert Brock, with musical direction by Associate Professor of Music Gerald L. Chafin.

Brock said the musical - which was written by Stephen Schwartz and first produced in 1971- is a fun modern-day version of the gospels with a powerful and touching ending.

"It's a joyous celebration of the gospel," Brock said, "Godspell is not only a play with catchy music, this musical holds a message of joy in life."

Godspell is currently being revived on Broadway, and the Lindsey Wilson cast members recently visited the Broadway cast and participated in a workshop at the Circle in the Square Theatre in New York.

LWC Players land opportunity to meet Broadway cast of GodspellLWC cast member Hannah Peck of Columbia said that the upcoming production will be a memorable one for audience members.

"Godspell is going to be a fun, yet moving performance that is sure to be one people will remember," Peck said.
