Tractor Trailer overturn at Sparksville closes KY 61

Breeding Fire Department Chief Terry Harvey said in a telephone call that Kentucky 61 is closed off at Weed-Sparksville Road because of a tractor-trailer being overturned near Bird Road in Sparksville, KY.

Some homes in the area are being evacuated, he said, because of the danger from ammonia nitrate and diesel fuel.

Harvey said he expects traffic to be rerouted during most of the day. He said that the Kentucky State Police, Adair County SAR are on the scene, and the EPA was on its way when the conversation took place at 8:43amCT, Tuesday, March 27, 2012.

Traffic going north from Burkesville is being rerouted across KY 90 to Tompkinsville Road through Edmonton. Traffic south is being rerouted across Weed-Sparksville Road to KY 80 and through Edmonton.
