Martha J. Gross, 81, of Louisville, died Saturday, March 17, 2012 at her home in Louisville, KY.

Funeral services will be at at 12pm noon ET/11amCT, Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway Louisville, KY. Burial will be in Louisville Memorial Garden. Visitation will be 1pm-8pmET/12pm noon CT, Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at the Evergreen Funeral Home.



Martha J. Gross, Louisville, KY (1931-2012)

She was born February 8, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Mason and Myrtie Willis Smith. She died Saturday, March 17, 2012, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 81 years, 1 month, and 9 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Mason "Micky" Smith and Marshall RaySmith.

She was a graduate of Columbia High School, Columbia, KY, and a member of Okolona Church of Christ.

Survivors Include:
  • Her husband: James H. Gross

  • Her children: Donna (Michael) Cantwell, Dean (Don) Dennis and Danny Gross

  • Stepson: Jerry (Wilma) Gross

  • The following brothers and sisters: Maurice "Smitty" (Billie) Smith, Marion "Derby" Smith,Marvin "Buck" (Beverly) Smith, Marie "Pat" (Donnie) Bennett, Marjorie "Margie" Burton,Margaret "Sarah" (Mitchell) Tupman and Mary "Shorty" (Oris) Brockman

  • Grandchildren: Jason, Jeremy & Jennifer Cantwell, Heather (Michael) Kennedy & CourtneyGross

  • Step grandson: Jamie Gross

  • Great grandchildren: Preston Eason & Hadleigh Kennedy

  • Many nieces and nephews also survive
