Happy ending: Finder reunites lost mother with puppies Lhasa Apso back with babies, thanks to Steve Strodtman of Columbia, KY. A little detective work solves dilemma. (With no help from CM. But we promise to do better). By Ed Waggener Here's a happy ending dog story: When Steve Strodtman found a Lhasa Apso, apparently a recent mother, he immediate placed an ad with CM, but for some boneheaded reason, it didn't get posted until today. In spite of that serious oversight, Mr. Strodtman just took matters into his own hands, did a little detective work, and got the mother back with her puppies. "I just thought," he said, "that the dog must have a home nearby, so I just knocked on a few doors and quickly found the right one," he said. "The owners were really happy that she was home. They thought that maybe the puppies had chewed on their mother's collar and in doing so, defaced the writing." That's why, he said, he was unable to take the wandering dog home sooner.I found out when I called to apologize that we had not posted the found dog ad sooner. There had even been a phone message from Mrs. Strodtman earlier, about the missing ad. Despite the monumental failure, the Strodtman's were understanding. They were just glad the mother was back home, safe and sound, with her pups. And CM? We promise to do better. We really do. -CM Comments above about: Lhasa Apso found near Bypass But, apologies again, no Happy Ending photo(s) of the family togehter again. _ED This story was posted on 2012-03-18 11:41:45
