Geneva Blades Adkins, 78, of Columbia, KY, died Friday, March 16, 2012 at 11:25amCT, at her residence.

At Geneva's request, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held.

She was born October 11, 1933, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Hazel and Gladys Montgomery Blades. She died Friday, March 16, 2012, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 78 years, 5 months, and 5 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Page, a brother, Billie Blades and a grandson, Joey Franklin.

Survivors include:
  • Four children: Pattie (James) McClister of Columbia, KY; Neva Jordan of Louisville, KY; Pia (Robert) Penzotti of Columbus, Wisconsin; and Tony (Dana) Blades of Monticello, Wisconsin

  • Two sisters: Virginia (Frank) Black of Russell Springs, Rachel (Rex) Handy of Columbia, KY

  • Nine grandchildren: Jamie (Billy) Birdwell, Blake Wagner, Garrett Wagner, Sydney Penzotti, Elizabeth Penzotti, Christopher Penzotti, Jericho Blades, Zuteus Blades, Atreyu Blades

  • Six great-grandchildren: Dylan Franklin, Hailey Birdwell, Bryson Harris, Breann Franklin, Jaylen McClister, Kayden Birdwell

  • A close personal friend: Darlene Lawhorn

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
