Adair has winners already in State Governor's Cup

With awards announcements in progress, Adair Countians Rebecca Montgomery, Heather Jackson, Jessie Taylor, Amber Turner, and Leane Backwelder already are winners/with winning teams!!! More announcement are coming shortly

LEXINGTON, KY (2012-03-12 : 2:30pmCT ) Governor's Cup State Competition has been in full swing leading up to this weekend's events in Lexington. Now that all the competitions have concluded, it's time to announce the awards! The Adair County teams and boosters are in the great hall, awaiting the results of their Governor's Cup performances.



Scenario Writing kicks off the afternoon, and the final standings have just been revealed.

Adair County has, once again, announced their presence!!

Middle Grades Division Scenario Writing
  • 1st Place--Rebecca Montgomery
  • 2nd Place--Jessi Taylor
High School Division Scenario Writing
  • 1st Place- Heather Jackson
For the Alternate Division competition for Future Problem Solving, students are assigned randomly to teams to complete. Two Adair County competitors scored a 1st place each with their alternate teams!!
  • 1st Place Middle Grades Division--Amber Turner's Alternate team
  • 1st Place High School Division --Leane Blackwelder's Alternate team
The FPS teams competed first thing after arriving in Lexington on Saturday, and students have competed in Individual Assessment, Individual Future Problem Solving, and in the Team Future Problem Solving events this weekend. As you can imagine, there is a combination of excitement, pride, happiness and anxiety as the team and boosters await the results of the remaining categories! --Jackie Montgomery
