Ronnie Thompson, Horse Cave, KY (d. March 7, 2012)

He was the head of a large, highly regarded family. He leaves 22 direct living descendants.Ronnie was a Hart County native, member of Immanuel Ministry Church, farmer, former owner of Thompson Farm Supply and former co-owner of Burkesville Motors Ford dealership. He was the grandfather of Brandon Thompson of Columbia, KY
Ronnie Thompson age 72 of Cave City, formerly of Burkesville, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Funeral services will be conducted 2pmCT, Saturday, March 10, 2012 in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home, 210 Maple Avenue, Horse Cave, KY, with burial in the Whickerville Cemetery. Visitation will be 2pm-9pmCT, Friday, March 9, 2012, and after 9amCT, Saturday at the funeral home.



Ronnie was a Hart County native, member of Immanuel Ministry Church, farmer, former owner of Thompson Farm Supply and former co-owner of Burksville Motors Ford dealership.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Damon Thompson and Edna Forbis Thompson, sister, Suzetta Thompson Judd, brother, infant Rollin David Thompson.Survivors include
  • Wife: Frances Ferguson Thompson of Cave City, KY

  • Son: Jeff Thompson and wife Lisa of Alvaton, KY

  • Daughter: Alisa Toon and husband Roger of Russellville, KY

  • Brothers and sisters: Sandra Norris of Marrowbone, KY; Cherryl Goodman of Munfordville, KY; Beverly Upton of Elizabethtown, KY; Betty Jean Jaggers of Uno, KY; Sammy Thompson of Greensburg, KY; Angie Passmore of Kississimee, FL; Terry Thompson of Cave City, KY; Yvonda Witherspoon of Murfreesboro, TN: Hope Carey of Cave City, KY; Mitzi Judd of Horse Cave, KY; Cynthia Chaney of Horse Cave, KY; Tara White of Elizabethtown, KY; and Stephanie Mahoney of Horse Cave, KY

  • Nineteen grandchildren

  • One great grandchild
  • Uncles: Coy Reid Forbis and wife Ola, of Canmer, KY; Everett Hensley of Monroe, KY
