Russell Countian. husband huddled in bathtub during tornadoes

It was scary for her, she says. Her home in Floyd County is just 23 minutes from the terrible weather disaster which struck Henryville, IN

By Melissa G. Rexroat-Craigmiles

This picture (Scenic Bullitt/Jefferson County KY Snowland, March 5 2012) is about 10 min from where I used to live in Fairdale, KY off Brooks Hill Road, near Bullit County, KY, and about 23 mins now from where I live in Indiana.

Of course when I wrote last about the tornados in Webb's Crossroads, I never thought it would touch my life here in Clarksville, Indiana where I have lived for five years, when i moved here in March 2007, from Lousiville, KY. I also grew up in Russell Springs and Webb's Crossroads. I have lived in North and South Carolina and several areas in Kentucky, but my heart is with Webb's Crossroads and Fairdale, KY and here in Clarksville where the tornado missed my apartment by 17 minutes.

The devastation in Western Clark County, Indiana is immense. I live in Southern Clark County. Henryville, Indiana was hard hit. I am volunteering today to drive to Henryville, 23 minutes up the road, and help people who were devastated by this tornado. It was scary for me and my husband James as we huddeled in our bathtub in our small apartment here in Clarksville as the wind blew and got up this past Friday when southern Indiana was devastated by tornados all around us.That tornado came so close and I prayed to God for help and He heard my cries.I pray for each person in Southern and Eastern and Northern, KY, and Tennessee where my husband is from and from, and Indiana for all of us who went through the tornados and then snow.

We got 1 1/2 to 2 inches of snow day before yesterday and today warmer temps in the 60s the weather is so strange these days --Melissa G Rexroat-Craigmiles
