Update: Good part left out of the news report on City Council

In the pressure to get the Council meeting report, March 5, 2012: Columbia to annex S. KY 61 land up immediately following the historic meeting in which the City of Columbia annexed property on the SE corner of "The Crossroads of America" - the Louie B. Nunn Parkway and KY 61 South - we failed to mention one of the best part's of Victoria Pike's presentation to the City mothers and fathers.
She said that the semi's on the ramp leading onto the westbound lane is where semi-truckers park and spend the night. She said they are just yards from her bedroom window. "And let me tell you, if you annex us, and one of those people tries to come through my window and take my stuff, you'll be getting a call from me to come get 'em and they won't be walking when you get there!" (or words close to that.) -CM
We promise to do better writing up these accounts in the future.

Miss Vicky sends message: She's not just a proper Bliss lady

2012-03-06 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
On one of her occasional trips to town Miss Vicky, Victoria Pike - the one on the right - was hanging out with a tough crowd all packing heat, but she was properly attired as the lady of the manor. She packs heat too, and warned the Mayor and City Council that if anyone comes off the parkway and tries to get through her bedroom window and get her stuff, the police will be coming out to pick up somebody who won't be walking! The gunfighters in the photo, taken at an old-time Treats on the Town event, are, from left, The leaders of the Rowe and Shearer gang, C. Rowe and Pam Shearer. In back keeping an eye on the gang members, was High Sheriff Harrison Ford, portraying himself.
