Virginia L. Turner, age 80 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Cumberland Valley Manor in Burkesville, KY.

Funeral services will be at 1pmCt, Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Burkesville Community Church, Allen Street, Burkesville, KY, with Rev. Michael Turner, Bishop Larry Weathers, Sr., and Rev. Jose' Anders. Burial will be in the Oddfellows Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pm-9pmCT, on Friday, March 09, 2012 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY.



Virginia L. Turner, 80, Cumberland Co., KY (1931-2012)

She was born on Tuesday, June 16, 1931 in Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Will and Beulah Alexander Maupin. She was a member of Big Sandy Holiness Church, and was a former employee of Bob Evans.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Horace Cheek Turner, three sisters, Dora Murray, Minnie Wilburn, and Gertrude Herd; three brothers Alexander Murray, Charles Maupin, and Willie Maupin.Survivors Include:
  • One son: Michael Turner and his wife Mary of Tompkinsville, KY

  • One daughter: Rhonda Weathers and her husband Larry of Danville, KY

  • Two sisters: Dorothy Farris and Mae Walker both of Burkesville, KY

  • One grandson: Michael Edmunds serving in the U.S. Air Force in Turkey

  • And a host of step grandchlidren, nieces, nephews, and many friends
