He was a native of Illinois and a retired farmer. Services and interment will be in Benton, Franklin County, Illinois

William Dale Carter age 86 of Edmonton, KY, died Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Metcalfe Health Care in Edmonton, KY.

Graveside services will be held 1pmCT, Thursday, February 23, 2012, at the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, 12740 Oddfellow Lane, Benton, Illinois. There will be no local service in Edmonton, KY.



Born in Zeigler, Illinois he was the son of the late Dale O. and Amanda Kingrey Carter.

He was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife Margaret L. Carter, of Edmonton, KY and the following:
  • One daughter: Margaret Ann and husband Steve Miller of Glasgow, KY

  • Two Grandchildren: Alex Miller of Edmonton, KY, and Holly Danielle Karrick and husband David of Glasgow, KY

  • One great grandchild: Cody Miller of Glasgow, KY

  • One cousin: Leonard and wife Pat Kingrey of Glasgow, KY

  • One brother in law: Shep Houghton of Washington State

  • One sister in law Donna Carter of New Mexico
Several nieces and nephews also survive. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Jack and Bob Carter and Mable Houghton.Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
