Douglas C. Young departed this life Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at his home in Green County, KY. He was 67 years of age.

The funeral service will be at 12pm noon CT, Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home., 209 W. Court Street, Greensburg, KY, with Rev. Irvin Milby, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in the Green County Memory Gardens, Summersville, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Friday, February 10, 2012, at the funeral home.



Pallbearers: Anthony Young, Luther Wayne Dial, Eric Suratt, Tyler Edwards, Chris Young, Robbie Young.

Douglas C. Young was born October 18, 1944 in Green County, KY. He was the son of to late Trumon and Mary Coffey Young. He departed this life Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at his home in Green County, KY, having attained the age of s67 years, 3 months and 20 days. Mr. Young had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Separate Baptist Church.

He retired after 35 years from General Motors, where he was a General Motors Master Technician.

He was united in marriage to Geraldine Patterson Young, who survives. He is also survived by the following:
  • One son: Ricky D. Young of Summersville, KY

  • Four daughters and two sons-in-law, Jean and Steve Suratt and Stephanie and Mike Edwards, of Summersville, KY; Jane Young and Connie West, of Yorktown, Virginia.
  • One brother: Richard Anthony Young (Vicki Johnson) of Greensburg, KY

  • Four sisters and three brothers-in-law: Martha and Dennis Trentham of Greensburg, KY; Earline and Gerry Judd of Mt. Sherman, KY, Gearline Nunn of Greensburg, KY and Regena and Steve Judd of Summersville, KY

  • Thirteen grandchildren: Jamie, Robbie and Chris Young, Kristen Ritchie, Matt Puckett, Josh Mueller, Keisha, Eric, and Haley Suratt, Tyler, Troy, Erica, and Blake Edwards

  • Six great-grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
