Clara Metzmeier retires as Giles Society President

Keysha Tucker, Knifley, KY, is the new President

Posted by Linda Waggener

Susan Lewis sends word that longtime president of the Janice and Henry Giles Society, Clara Metzmeier, has retired from leadership of the board. Lewis said, "Clara has served The Janice Holt Giles and Henry Giles Society Board so well in so many different capacities that it will be difficult to imagine the position without her."

For many years, Metzmeier has been a passionate advocate for the lives and works of the Gileses. In so doing, she has helped to further the Giles reputation and foster a love for Kentucky's contributions to the literature of the world.

Lewis encourages everyone to, "Join us in bidding a fond farewell to her as president, but we will continue to call upon her for advice and knowledge of the Gileses."
