Alterene Keltner, Adair County, KY (1928-2012)

She was a member of a large, respected Adair County family. She was retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after 27 years service and she was an avid bingo player

Altarene Keltner, age 83 years of Columbia, KY passed away Wednesday February 1, 2012 at 4:24amCT, at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY after a short illness.

Funeral services are Friday, February 3, 2012 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Todd Akin the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. The family request visitation after 3pmCT, on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Alterene Keltner, Adair County, KY (1928-2012)

She was born Saturday, April 7, 1928 in Gadberry, KY the daughter of the late James and Cleo Patra Stotts Murrell. She died Wednesday, February 1, 2012, in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co., KY, at the age of 83 years, 8 months, and 24 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Claude Hansford Sinclair on May 28, 1960 She later married Ray Keltner who preceded her in death on April 7, 2000.

She was preceded in death by a son Philip Sinclair on September 4, 1995; two brother: Stanton Murrell and Seymon Murrell; and two sisters, Avis Murrell and Agnes Murrell.

Mrs. Keltner is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Claudette Lowhorn of Albany, KY

  • One brother: Joe Murrell of Louisville, KY

  • Two sisters: Yvonne Gibson of Louisville, KY; and Annette Scott of Louisville, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Sherri Berger, Tommy Patton, Melissa Rooks, Sonya Absher, April Rooks

  • Fourteen great grandchildren

  • And eight great great grandchildren
