Florence Wheeler age 86 years of Columbia, KY, passed away Sunday morning, January 29, 2012at 8:15amCT, at her home after several weeks illness.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 11amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary FuneralHome, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.Clergy officiating will be Bro. Elbert Hadley.Interment in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 6amCT on Tuesday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Florence Wheeler, Adair Co., KY (1925-2012)

She was born on Friday, May 1, 1925 in Poland, IN, the daughter of the late John Pete and Flo EttaVeach Deardorff. She died Sunday, January 29, 2012, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 86 years, 8 months, and 28 days.

She was and widow of Earon Wheeler of Adair County, KY , who preceded her in death on August 12, 2004. She was also preceded in death by one son, Steven Wheeler on August 18, 1970 and by brothers, Paul Deardorff and Earl Steuerwald , and a sister Lois Mace.

Survived locally by the following:
  • A nephew: Donnie Wheeler

  • Nieces: Linda Hendrickson, Connie Wheeler, Phyllis Kearney, Pat Downey, Diane Hatcher,Sandy Wheeler, and Jeannie Cox

  • Other nieces and nephews: Renee Frazier, Robin Andrews, Ron Deardorff andForrest Steuerwald

  • Several other great nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
Mrs. Wheeler attended the Hadley Community Church. She was a key punch operatorfor American Standard and a homemaker.
