Lindsey Wilson Men's Basketball jumps into NAIA Top-10 By Chris Wells News from Lindsey Wilson College KANSAS CITY, MO - For the first time this season, the Lindsey Wilson College men's basketball team is in the top-10 of the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Coaches' Top-25 Poll. The poll was released on Monday, January 23, 2012 by NAIA officials. After beginning the season outside the national poll, the Blue Raiders (15-4) have methodically climbed to its season-best No. 8 ranking in this week's poll. The Blue Raiders received 240 voting points from the national raters. Lindsey Wilson jumped three spots this week after winning on the road at then-No. 20 Campbellsville University and at St. Catharine College. The Blue Raiders own a conference-best five-game winning streak heading into this week's play. No. 4-ranked Georgetown College and No. 23-ranked University of Pikeville join Lindsey Wilson as the only Mid-South Conference teams ranked in the poll. St. Catharine (8-8) is the lone MSC team in the receiving votes category. Shorter (Ga.) University (18-0) remained in the top spot for a second straight week after receiving 312 voting points, including all 12 first-place votes. Robert Morris (Ill.) University (19-1) climbed one spot to No. 2 while Oklahoma Baptist University (16-2) slipped to No. 3. The poll is voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each conference, the independents and unaffiliated groups. The next poll is scheduled to be announced on Monday, January 30, 2012. -CHRIS WELLS This story was posted on 2012-01-24 02:15:39
