Democratic Women seek applicants for Bernice Flowers scholarship Last year's recipient was Cassie Rogers. Democrat Womens Club Bernice Flowers Scholarship is $500. Winner of the Bernice Flowers scholarship will be forwarded to State Democratic Women for chance to receive $1,000 scholarship. Deadline: The sooner the better. By Victoria Pike News from the Democratic Women's Club The Adair County Democratic Women's Club will again be offering a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior from Adair County High School this year. The requirements and information on the Bernice Flowers Scholarship given each year by our club are available at the high school to all interested students. Please apply if you qualify. The club winner will be forwarded to the Kentucky Democratic Women's Club for consideration for two $1000 scholarships. The deadline for state submission is March 1, 2012. A club winner will have to be selected sooner. A letter of recommendation has to be sent along with the application to the state committee. If you are interested, please get the application filled out and your essay written as soon as possible. We will be picking the applications up soon for our committee to review. Please be sure to read and complete all steps of the application. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Last year's winner was Cassie Rogers, daughter of Joe and Sandy Rogers.
