Mr. Oakes had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pink Ridge Baptist Church in Metcalfe County, KY.

Lyndell Reid Oakes, 65, departed this life Saturday, December 24, 2011 at his home in Green County, KY.

The funeral was held at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home at 1pmCT, Wednesday, December 28, 2011, with Rev. James Myles the officiating clergy. Interment was in the Pink Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Metcalfe County, KY.



Pallbearers: Don Ward, C.J. Wethington, Justin George, Jeremy Fields, Curtis Deweese, Todd Blakeman.

Lyndell Reid Oakes was born July 11, 1946 in Iowa.He was the son of the late Marshall Reid Oakes and Evelyn Miller Oakes. He departed this life Saturday, December 24, 2011 at his home in Green County, KY, having attained the age of sixty-five years, five months and thirteen days.

Mr. Oakes had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pink Ridge Baptist Church in Metcalfe County, KY.

He is survived by the following:
  • His wife: Margaret Daugherty Oakes, and the following:
  • Two sons: Ricky Oakes of Greensburg, KY and James D. Oakes of Campbellsville, KY
  • Three grandchildren: Twyla Jessie, Anna Fields and Amanda Deweese

  • Two great grandchildren: Hailey Jessie and Aubrey Deweese

  • And a host of other relatives and friends. Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W. Court Street, Greensburg, KY, in charge of arrangements.
