Kevin Bridgewaters: Best kept Adair County secret Believed to be Adair County's first professional basketball player, former Indian star has played for teams in Ukraine and Lithuania, Greece, and now to Inter Bratislavia, Slovakia Click on headline for story with photo(s) By Billy Joe Fudge Kevin Bridgewaters is Adair County's best kept secret. Kevin is, to the best of my ability to discern, our first professional basketball player. He played his high school ball at Adair County High School from 1999 through 2003. After two years of college ball at Wabash Valley College, Mt. Carmel, IL, Kevin transferred to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he played through 2008. His pro career started in Ukraine and Lithuania during the 08-09 season, took him to Greece in 09-10 and this season he is playing for Inter Bratislava in Slovakia. The man in green putting the chest into Kevin, in the accompanying photo, is Kalnietis Mantas, the starting point guard for the Lithuanian National Team and according to Kevin is a NBA caliber player. Kevin has a four year old son, Braelen and spends his off season (May, June, July and early August) in Chattanooga. His father is Kevin Taylor and his mother is Rhonda Bridgewaters. Adair County is proud to call Kevin our native son and we hope he will head up the Columbia - Chattanooga Highway this next summer and say howdy. - BILLY JOE FUDGE This story was posted on 2011-12-24 04:57:29
