Ashley Rainey, LWC junior from Bowling Green is MSC Player of Week LOUISVILLE, KY. - Lindsey Wilson College junior Ashley Rainey capped an incredible week by being named the Mid-South Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Rainey led the Blue Raiders to three wins in three days last week with recording three double-doubles. The weekly conference award is her first of the season and fourth of her career. In the three wins, Rainey averaged 23 points and 13 rebounds per game to lead Lindsey Wilson to its seventh straight win. The Bowling Green, Ky., junior forward opened the week by making the most of her 15 minutes of action with 15 points and 11 rebounds in a 96-39 win over Ohio Christian University. One night later, Rainey led the Blue Raiders to a 66-59 win over Cumberland (Tenn.) University with 24 points, 12 rebounds and three steals. In her third game in three days, Rainey recorded season-highs with 28 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Blue Raiders over NAIA Division II No. 1-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University 65-62. The loss was the first of the season for the Wildcats. Rainey finished the week shooting 73.5 percent (25-of-34) from the field. She averaged two assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.7 steals in the three wins. Rainey leads the Blue Raiders this season averaging 23.8 points and 12 rebounds. She is shooting 70.2 percent from the field in her four games this season.
