Lindsey Wilson College Band Concert a Rousing Hit Amost full house thrilled by performance. Doug McCammish says if you didn't make it this year, make plans now to attend in 2012 By Doug McCammish What a way to kick off the Christmas in Columbia weekend! Tim Allen is retired - sure! Those who went (and almost filled the stands) were treated to precision, poise, and excellent sound - but even more to wonderful entertainment. The band played professionally through all the planned agenda, until the last piece which was "Men of Good Will." For that piece, which is actually a marching/drum & bugle corps piece, they brought the house down. When the audience didn't leave, Mr. Allen made the mistake of asking them what they wanted to play for an encore. When the drummers took off their suit jackets, and Tim said they were going to play "Swing, Swing, Swing," we knew we were in for a treat - and we weren't wrong. If you weren't there, plan to go next year. -DOUG McCAMMISH This story was posted on 2011-12-03 06:53:11
