CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - Chase Spreen poured in a career-high 30 points and Kalen Kimberland added 20 points to help Lindsey Wilson College tear past Life (GA) University 99-83 on Friday night in the Lou Cunningham Classic hosted by Campbellsville (KY) University in the Powell Athletic Center.

Sophomore Chase Cox helped the Blue Raiders with 16 points on 4-of-8 three-point shooting, while Spreen and Kimberland got a bulk of their points from the free-throw line where they hit 11 and 14 shots, respectively.

Life's (3-4) P.J. Meyers led all scorers with 33 points on 37 field-goal attempts, hitting 12. Ramon Walker added 17 points and 12 rebounds.

There were 48 fouls called in the game, sending Lindsey Wilson (5-3) to the charity stripe 45 times where it hit 36 for 80.0 percent in the game. The Blue Raiders also outrebounded Life 46-37 behind a team-high 12 boards from junior Josh White.

Through eight minutes Lindsey Wilson put together a 25-10 lead, gaining the 15 point advantage the easy way with multiple passes into the paint over the defense for easy baskets.

The large lead didn't hold up long as Meyers went to work, slashing to the basket to cut the Blue Raider advantage to just 10 points at halftime.

Meyers - the NAIA's scoring leader heading into the game - tallied 10 points in the first 20 minutes, aided by a perfect 4-for-4 showing from the free-throw line.

Spreen did his best to keep the Blue Raiders in front, outdoing Meyers by three with 13 first-half points, hitting all four of his free throws as well, while also knocking down a 3-pointer.

Cox backed Spreen up in the half hitting two threes of his own, then put Lindsey Wilson in control for good after a stretch of back-to-back threes to lead by more than 20 points the majority of the second half.

Lindsey Wilson shot a 54.7 percent clip from the field and 38.5 percent from behind the arc, while Life struggled to 38.8 percent from the field and a dismal 13.3 percent on threes (2-for-15). -DAN WHITE, Lindsey Wilson College Assistant Sports Information Director, Lindsey Athletics
