Junior Syra, 78, Metcalfe Co., KY (d. Nov. 13, 2011)

He was a member of a large, respected Metcalfe County, KY family. He was retired from the Metcalfe County Road Department

Junior Syra age 78 of Edmonton died Sunday, November 13, 2011 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KYFuneral services will be held 11amCT, Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Cedar Flat Cemetery in Metcalfe County, KY. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at the funeral home.

He was the son of the late Hubert and Victoria Jennings Syra. He was retired from the Metcalfe County Road Department.

He is survived by the following:
  • Four sons: Doyle Syra of Indianapolis, IN; Mark Syra of Russell Springs, KY; and James and Ricky Syra both of Edmonton, KY

  • One daughter: Anita Crews of Mt Herman, KY

  • Eleven grandchildren

  • Three great grandchildren

  • And two step great grandchildren
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son Wayne Edward Syra, a sister Christine Harris and a grandson Joshua Michael Syra.
