Compassionate Friends Candlelighting services Dec. 11, 2011 One service at Miller Park, Campbellsville, KY; another at American Legion Park in Greensburg, KY By Judy Dabney The annual Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting will be held Sunday December 11, 2011 in Campbellsville and Greensburg, KY.There will be a service at 7pmET/6pmCT, in Campbellsville at the KID-WISE Building, 195 City Park Road Campbellsville KY, adjacent to Miller Park and at 7pmCT/8pmET in Greensburg at the gazebo in American Legion Park, 1099 Legion Park Road, Greensburg, KY. The Memorial trees at each park will also be decorated. Candles will be provided; if you want to place an ornament on the memorial tree you should bring it with you. Also feel free to bring any pictures or mementos to share with the group. A memory table will be available.The United States Senate has, for several years, joined in the Worldwide Candle Lighting remembrance by unanimously passing resolutions, at the requests of The Compassionate Friends, declaring the second Sunday in December of each year National Children's Memorial Day. The Compassionate Friends of Central Kentucky will be participating in the annual worldwide candle lighting ceremony held at 7pmET/6pmCT, around the globe.The first candles will be lit in Australia and remain lit for an hour until it is 7pmCT, in the next time zone; as the candles go out in one time zone they are lit in the next one creating a wave of light around the globe in honor and memory of all the children who have died, that their light may always shine. Candles will be provided; if you want to place an ornament on the memorial tree you should bring it with you. Also feel free to bring any pictures or mementos to share with the group. A memory table will be available.
