Jean Estes, 76, of Columbia, KY died Friday, November 11, 2011 at 7:42amET, at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 14, 2011 at 1pmCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Pastor Randy Parnell officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, 8147 Burkesville Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation after 5pmCT, Sunday, November 13, 2011, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home.



Jean Estes, Adair County, KY (1935-2011)

She was born Saturday, October 26, 1935, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late William Riley and Ora Loy Janes. She died Friday, November 11, 2011, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 76 years and 16 days.She was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Finis Estes, a son, Phillip Estes, six brothers and six sisters; Ores Bennett, Delbert, Burley, Alfred, Olen andCortez Janes, Freda Janes, Calma Weichert, Myrtle Coomer, Icy Rowe, Ona Sparks, and Essie Rowe.

Survivors include the following:
  • One daughter: Gail Laslie of Louisville, KY

  • Three sisters: Inez Stotts, Regina French, Lottie (Lucian) Edwards all of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Azro (Bea) Janes of Brandenburg, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Tina Moore, Keisha Wharton, Jeremy Kerns

  • Three great-grandchildren: Dylan Moore, Alexis Kerns, Christian Wharton
