LWC Women's Soccer Claims 11th MSC Tournament Title LWC 3, Rio Grande, LWC Goals: Hanna Johnson, Lund Sweden. Katrina Simic, Maimo, Sweden. Elizabet Madjarec, Brondby Strand, Denmark. NEXT: Raiders learn Sunday, November 13, 2011 who opening round opponent will be and where, and when. By Chris Wells RIO GRANDE, Ohio - The Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team captured the Mid-South Conference Tournament title tonight with a 3-0 win over Georgetown College, Georgetown, KY at Evans E. Davis Field on the campus of University of Rio Grande. Three different Blue Raiders scored to help Lindsey Wilson win the program's 10th consecutive MSC Tournament title and 11th in 12 years since joining the MSC in 2000. Lindsey Wilson's Hanna Jonsson scored the only goal of the first half in the 39th minute on a cold and wet day. Jonsson scored from the top of the penalty area through traffic to beat Georgetown goalkeeper Cathie Shaver for the 1-0 lead. Jonsson's shot was one of eight Blue Raider (17-0-2) shots in the opening half compared to just one from the Tigers. In the second frame, No. 1-ranked Lindsey Wilson continued to apply pressure on Shaver and the Tiger defense. The Blue Raiders ended the night sending 10 of their 17 shots on target. Georgetown finished with just two shots on the night. In the 62nd minute, Lindsey Wilson's Ida Gregersen booted one of the Blue Raiders' five corner kicks into the box and Katarina Simic found the back of the net for the 2-0 lead. The goal is Simic's seventh of the season and third in the last two games. The Blue Raiders added their third and final goal of the match in the 79th minute as Elizabet Madjarac scored an unassisted goal for the 3-0 win. Lindsey Wilson goalkeeper Ester Dam Simonsen picked up her third shutout win of the season while collecting two saves. Shaver finished with seven saves while allowing three goals. The Blue Raiders will learn on Sunday, November 13 who their opening round opponent in the NAIA Tournament as the NAIA releases the national tournament bracket.
