2011 ACH Girls Golf Banquet caps off successful season The team will miss senior Emilee Royse. Returing players include Ashley Goodin, Abby Royse, in leadership roles, as seniors, and talented rising stars Rahel Phipps, Madison Bell, Jessica Simpson, and Hailey Taylor Click on headline for story plus photo(s) By Coach Kim Goodin News from Adair County High School Girls Golf team The girls' golf team held their banquet on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at The Pines dining room. The girls' team finished the season with a 13-9 match record. Their team stroke average was 192.2. It was a successful year considering the teams we have to compete against week in, week out. The girls finished 8th in the regional tournament which is very respectable when you have State tournament quality teams and individuals in your region. Each player received an individual award recognizing team as well as individual accomplishments. Coach's comments: I'm very proud of these girls and feel fortunate to be their coach. We are losing one senior, Emilee Royse and she will be missed. Emilee has been with us a long time and it will sure seem strange when we hit the tee next year without her. We do have a lot to look forward to though, we have young golfers coming back with seasoned veterans to anchor our team. Hailey Taylor, 6th grade has tremendous potential along with 8th graders Jessica Simpson and Madison Bell. Sophomore Rachel Phipps returns and is a very talented golfer. Our juniors, Ashley Goodin and Abby Royse will be great leaders for us and seem ready to lay in all on the line their senior year. So as a coach, this is what you want to see. -COACH KIM GOODIN This story was posted on 2011-11-06 05:59:11
