News from the Adair County School District

Students, faculty and staff will now benefit from a district-wide wireless computer network that is nearing completion. According to Carla Perkins, Technology Director, wireless devices like iPads and portable computers will now have full access to the district's e-mail and learning resources on the internet.

High speed wireless connectivity will allow students and instructional staff to move about freely within buildings without the need for cords..

Before our addition, we were limited to just five wired computer hookups per classroom," said Perkins. "With wireless , the number of users is virtually unlimited. We will now be able to offer our students more 21st century learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom.

Superintendent Darrell Treece notes that a secure and dependable wireless infrastructure is essential as the district moves forward with new learning tools such as iPads. -ALAN W. REED.
