Mrs. Ruth Shuffett Rodgers Bruton, 94, of Greensburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital.

The funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Shuffett Rodgers Bruton will be conducted at 2pmCT, Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Liberty Cemetery. Bro. Trent Davis, Bro. Pat Smith and Bro. Kevin Rodgers will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 4pm-9pmCT, Monday, October 17, 2011, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT,Tuesday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Grayson Bills, Jeff Rodgers, Tony Rodgers,Greg Smith, Ricky Smith, Ronald Matney, Kerry Matney, Austin Matney

Mrs. Ruth Shuffett Rogers Bruton, Green Co., KY (1916-2011)

Mrs. Ruth Shuffett Rodgers Bruton of Greensburg, Kentucky was the daughter of the late Hartford B. Shuffett and Lena Judd Shuffett. She was born on Thursday, November 2, 1916 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Saturday, October 15, 2011 in Greensburg, Green Co., KY.. She was 94 years, 11 months and 13 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pickett's Chapel United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.

She united in marriage to James Paul Rodgers on September 15, 1933 who preceded her in death on June 11, 1984. She later united in marriage to Paul Bruton who also preceded her in death on September 22, 1993.

Survivors include the following:
  • Three daughters and sons-in-law: Julia and Carl Berry of Green County, KY; Margie and Raydean Smith of Adair County, KY; and Shelia and Ronald Matney of Green County, KY

  • Two sons and a daughter-in-law: Donnie Rodgers of Adair County and Stephen and Pam Rodgers of Adair County, KY

  • Thirteen grandchildren

  • Twenty great grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
The Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, in charge of arrangements.
