ADAIR takes Grand Championship at Lincoln Days Invitational

ADAIR will perform during the 2pmCT, today, Sunday, October 2, 2011 Adair County Salutes Sgt. Dakota Meyer program, at Blue Raider Stadium, 820 Hanley Lane, Columbia, KY

HODGENVILLE, KY (2011-10-01) - The Adair County Marching Band was Grand Champion of the Lincoln Days Invitational Band Contest, held Saturday, October 1, 2011, at LaRue County High School in Hodgenville, KY.



The contest drew eight bands, including ADAIR and Anderson County, Garrard County, Logan County, Nelson County, Russell County, and Wayne County.In the Finals, in addition to the Grand Championship, the top honor, Adair County won Best Overall Percussion, Most Outstanding Musical Performance, Most Outstanding Visual Performance, and Most Outstanding General Effect.

ADAIR won first place in the 3A preliminaries. In Preliminary competition, bands compete by class. There is no Grand Championship. ADAIR also won First Place for Best Percussion in the Preliminaries.

The victory is the third consecutive year ADAIR has won the Grand Championship at Lincoln Days. The band did not compete in the event in 2008. -SHAMARIE CLAIBORNE. AdairBand.com
