Supporting Dakota Meyer Initiative at Adair Co. High School

AP Chemistry students Empty Pockets: Some of Mrs. Susan Peck's Advanced Placement (AP) Chemistry class donated to the Dakota Meyer Challenge, Wednesday, September 28, 2011. We have had great response from both clubs and individuals here at ACHS. All proceeds - 100% of the receipts - will be presented to Dakota on Sunday, October 2, 2011, at the ceremony honoring him at Blue Raider Stadium, 820 Hanley Lane, Columbia, KY. Massed bands to render Marine Corps Hymn, Dakota Meyer Day

Tim Allen and Tom Case are preparing the Adair County High School Band and the Lindsey Wilson College Band for Sunday's event honoring Dakota Meyer. The band will join together on Sunday to play patriotic music at the show. A 100 member band will play "The Marine Corp Hymn" and "America the Beautiful." The Ceremony will be a 2pmCT, Sunday, October 2, 2011, at Lindsey Wilson's Blue Raider Field. Coming into the stadium, over 150 Patriot Guard motorcyclists will precede Dakota Meyer through the streets of Columbia to the event. The escort rolling procession will start at approximately 1:30pmCT, going south toward Columbia on Campbellsville Road from the Adair County Veterans Memorial Highway, go around the square, south on Jamestown Street to Russell Road and turn on Robert L. Miller Drive. Dakota will arrive at the stadium at 2pmCT.

ACES Loves and Salutes Dakota Meyer

Friday, September 30th was Dakota Meyer Day at ACES. Faculty and students wore camouflage or pajamas OR in some cases camouflage pajamas to school in honor of Dakota Meyer. Faculty and students also took up donations for the Dakota Meyer Scholarship Initiative to contribute to the Adair County School's fund raising effort. Total from ACES students/faculty was $692.13. ACES would like to thank the parents/students and faculty who donated to this worthy cause. Dakota Meyer at Adair County High School!

Dakota Meyer made an appearance this afternoon at ACHS to wrap up the Scholarship Challenge. Members of Mrs. Sheila Willis's AP Biology Class were present to share with Dakota our total contribution to his scholarship initiative. ACHS's grand total will be revealed on Sunday, October 2nd at Blue Raider Stadium. Thanks to all ACHS students, teachers, staff, clubs, booster organizations, athletic teams, and friends at ACES.
