Christopher Adam Collings, Green Co., KY (1962-2011)

He was a graduate of Greensburg High School. He had served as Superintendent of Carter Caves Resort Park. Prior to that he had been Assistant Superintendent of Cumberland Falls State Park. He was a Rotarian and a member of the Carter County Saddle Club.

Mr. Christopher Adam Collings of Olive Hill, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. He was 49 years of age.

The funeral services for Mr. Christopher Adam Collings will be conducted at 1pmCT, Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens in Summersville, Green Co., KY. Visitation is requested 6pm-9pmCT/7-pm-10pmET, Friday, September 30, 2011, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT/8amET, Saturday until time of the funeral service.



Christopher Adam Collings, Green Co., KY (1962-2011)
Mr. Christopher Adam Collings of Olive Hill, Kentucky, son of Gerald "Jerry" Max Collings of Greensburg, Kentucky and the late Sylvia Hudson Collings, was born on Tuesday, March 6, 1962 in Green County, KY, and departed this life on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead, Rowan Colunty Kentucky. He was 49 years, 6 months, and 18 days of age.

Mr. Collings was a graduate of Greensburg High School and worked several years in hotel management. Before moving to Carter County to serve as Superintendent of Carter Caves Resort Park he was employed as assistant superintendent at Cumberland Falls State Park. He was a member of the Rotary Club International and of the Carter County Saddle Club.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 16 years: Sabrina Clark Collings, and the following:
  • A daughter: Sylvia Louise Collings who is a student at East Carter Middle School

  • Three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Mitchell and Theresa Collings of Greensburg, KY; Gregg Collings of Nicholasville, KY; and Jerry and Gretchen Collings of Massachusetts

  • And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Memorial contributions may be made to "Friends of Carter Caves" 344 Caveland Dr., Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164 or The American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, 33 Guthrie St., Suite 207, Louisville, Kentucky 40202.The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY in charge of arrangements.
