Columbia, KY - Education is one of the keys to a strong economy. That's why Community Trust Bank made a gift on Monday morning to Lindsey Wilson College.

The bank gave the college $2,500, which will be used to support Adair County residents who attend the LWC. This year, more than 300 Adair County residents are enrolled at LWC.

"In order for Adair County to be a strong community, it is critical that we have a well-educated population," said Community Trust Bank Columbia Branch Manager Lee Ann Collins. "Lindsey Wilson plays an important part in Columbia-Adair County, and we are proud to support the college and its students."

LWC President William T. Luckey Jr. said that one reason LWC has been among the state's fastest-growing colleges is because of support from organizations such as Community Trust Bank.

"This college is fortunate to have strong partners such as Community Trust Bank, who recognize the important role Lindsey Wilson plays in the community," Luckey said. "Because of Community Trust Bank's generosity, more young people will have the opportunity to earn a college education, which will benefit everyone in our community."
