Kentucky Color - Crabapple breakfast Click on headline for full article and photo(s) By Billy Joe Fudge, Retired District Forester Kentucky Division of Forestry A breakfast of what appeared to be ripe Crabapples was being served up at 205 Lowes Lane this morning. The time of the munching was 6:20 DST (Deer Standard Time). I have credible reports from experts in the field that Deer do not observe Daylight Savings Time. The accompanying picture is photographic evidence that we urbanites should be cognizant of perpetuating a healthy, diverse urban forest for not only our physical and emotional well being but for the other members of the animal kingdom who share our urban space with us, as well. In every way imaginable, it is in the best interest of our city and county governments, public schools, Lindsey Wilson, Chamber of Commerce, all our business community, and each citizen to commit to doing a better job planning and managing our urban forest landscape. -Billy Joe Fudge This story was posted on 2011-09-25 17:01:02
