Blair Park: A Huge Community Thank You to Jim Blair

It is with the Thank You to Jim Blair that we announce the kickoff of a fund raising program for improvements to this new park. The City and County government are currently committing $25,000 each per year for this community project, but donations for improvements are always appreciated.



We also wish to express Thanks to all those who have given time or money, or committed donations to the Jim Blair Community Recreation Center.

The Columbia-Adair Co. Parks Board is now looking for donations and grants to expand our building and for improvements to the playground area. Our most current project is the repairs to the softball field and replacing chain link fencing and other improvements at an estimated cost of $13,000.

If anyone is interested in making donations to the Jim Blair Community Recreation Center, please contact City Hall, Fiscal Court Office, or Charles Grimsley or any Parks Board member. Columbia-Adair Co. JIM BLAIR, third from left, above a major Columbia/Adair County philanthropist, and the man whose generosity made the acquisition of the former Christian Life Center for use as a city/county recreation and senior citizens center, was honored Tuesday afternoon, September 20, 2011, at the unveiling of the sign renaming the center "The Jim Blair Community Recreation Center."
