McClelland Tarter, Jr., Adair Co., KY (1923-2011) He was a member of a highly regarded Adair County, KY family. He was a member of the Shively Baptist Church, and Shively Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of World War II and will be accorded military honors by Columbia Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6097 McClelland "Mac" Tarter, Jr., 87, of Louisville, KY, died Monday, September 19, 2011 at the Essex Nursing & Rehab in Louisville, KY. Memorial visitation will be Thursday, September 22, 2011, from 5pm-7pmET/4pm-6pmCT at Highview Baptist Church, Valley Station Campus, 5415 Valley Station Road in Louisville, KY. Memorial graveside service, Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 12pm noon CT at Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Randy Copeland officiating. Military honors will be presented by VFW Post 6097. McClelland Tarter, Jr., Adair Co., KY (1923-2011) A native of Adair County, he was the son of the late McClelland "Clell" & Alda Price Tarter. He was born Saturday, October 27, 1923. He died Monday, September 19, 2011 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY at the age of 87 years, 10 months, and 23 days. He was a member of Shively Baptist Church, Shively Masonic Lodge, a US Army Veteran of World War II and was retired from American Standard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Tarter in 2004, and a granddaughter, Shelley Craven McDonnaugh. Survivors include the following:
