Kenneth L. Lucas, Burkesville, KY (1935-2011)

He was a retired employee of the Oregon State Parks Service and had lived in Alaska prior to moving to Cumberland Co., KY. His marriage to Norma Lucas endured a remarkable 60 years.

Kenneth Lee Lucas, 76, of 301 S. Main Street Burkesville, KY, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Cumberland Valley Manor in Burkesville, KY.

Kenneth was born in Bend, Oregon on Saturday, July 2, 1935. He was the son of late Bell Hall Lucas, and the late Owen Thomas Lucas. He died September 17, 2011, in Burkesville, Cumberland Co., KY, at the age of 76 years, 2 months, and 15 days.



He was a retired employee of the Oregan State Parks Service. He and Norma moved to Alaska after retirement and enjoyed many years there before making Cumberland County, Kentucky their home.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma Lucas, Burkesville, KY and the following:
  • Two ssters: Mary Anderson of Vernonia, OR; Ruby Florence Briggs of Bullhead, AZ

  • Two children

  • Nineteen foster children they raised as their own

  • A host of grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive
The family has chosen cremation and a memorial service will be held later in Alaska.
