First Poetry Reading called incredible experience

Cafe on the Square was packed for inaugural event

By Christina O'Rourke

Poetry Night at the Cafe on the Square was a huge success. For two and a half hours last night, Monday, September 12, 2011, the cafe was packed with listeners and readers of all levels of poetic ability. From people who had just begun writing, to those who have been writing for years. The excitement and anticipation in the room was almost overwhelming, but it made for an incredible experience. The readers included:
  • Christina ORourke
  • Sam Johnson
  • Tara Lawson
  • John Payne
  • Glenda York
  • Samantha Riddle
  • Felix Casa del Valle
  • Abigail Osborn
  • Glen Jennings
  • Dominca Thomas
  • Dave Grisby
  • Michelle Leyden
  • James Brown
  • Alex Pepper
  • Emily Wolking
  • Jessica Caldwell
  • Jordan Coomer
I would like to give a special thank you to everyone who read, and to those who came to listen. We look forward to seeing all of you again at our next poetry night, at 5pmCT, October 10, 2011, at Cafe on the Square, 212 Public Square, Columbia, KY. -CHRISTINA O'ROURKE
