Click on headline for full story, photo(s) Next match will be Tuesday as we compete in the Heartland Conference Tournament at Campbellsville Country Cub, 3064 Hodgenville Road, Campbellsville, KY. Tee time will be approximately 8amCT/9amET By Steve Burton, ACHS Boys Golf Coach On Saturday morning, the ACHS Boy's Golf team traveled to Bowling Green Country Club to compete in the Bowling Green Invitational. The BGIT is considered by many one to the top 3 tournaments in the state. The result ended with the Indians capturing 6th place among the best the state of Kentucky has to offer. Alex Durham led the Indians with an outstanding round of (74). That was good enough for 2nd Place Individually for the tournament. Van Giles (81), Riley Grant (89), Daniel Rarey (90), and Jerrod Grider (91) rounded out the scorecard for the Indians (334). Coach's Critique: I am very satisfied with how we played and competed this weekend. We played a very tough golf course against some of the best teams in the state. We were only 1 shot away from being in the top 4. There were several regional favorites who competed in the tournament along with some state tournament favorites as well. We were right there with them, added Coach Burton. I believe we definitely gained some respect from the golfing community around the state today. I can't say enough about how Alex played. From start to finish he was as solid as a rock. This tournament had 6 of the top 10 golfers in the state according to the rankings and Alex more than held his own. To finish 2nd was an unbelievable accomplishment. However, this kind of finish comes as no surprise to those of us who has watched Alex play this year. Alex is starting to come into his own and show just what kind of talent that he has. Alex is a special golfer and an even better young man. -COACH STEVE BURTON.
