Flatwoods Church 50th Anniversary will be October 2, 2011

Interest in the history of the church has gone so well a book will be published. Readers are asked to continue to contribute to the project. All three former living pastors, Bro. James Antle, Bro. Junior Holmes, and Bro. Clifford DeHart, in addition to the current pastor, Bro Carroll G. Perkins will speak at the homecoming.

Here is some more information about our 50th anniversary service at Flatwoods Church.

A while back, I asked for information from the community concerning the early years of Flatwoods Separate Baptist Church. I have received much, but feel there is much more out there.

This is growing into a big project. Now we are planning on publishing a book concerning the history of the church. ALL information is greatly appreciated.

We now have planned an Anniversary Service on October 2, 2011.

Everyone is invited to come join us for some great homecoming type services. You are encouraged to come in old fashioned attire if you want, (men in bib overhauls and women in long dresses, aprons, and bonnets) but it is not necessary. Please plan on coming to any or all and if you have more information, please bring it with you.

There are only three former pastors still living and all three will be there to either preach or tell of their experiences.

Schedule of events for October 2, 2011
  • 10amCT - Bro. James Antle
  • 11amCT - Bro. Junior Holmes

  • Lunch to follow
  • 2pmCT - Bro. Clifford DeHart
  • Current pastor - Bro. Carol G. Perkins will close out the afternoon service.
Thank you,
